Lowering carbohydrate intake and avoiding grains is essential to improving your gut health and avoiding/ treating insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. But bread is tasty and convenient, so Orchard Chiropractic Centre has listed some YouTube links to tasty alternatives to our grain based staples. Note: Oats do not contain gluten, but a similar protein called avenin. Whether avenin is inflammatory is debatable as it is tolerated by some coeliacs. However, only oats that are certified gluten free are likely to be so, as most will be contaminated with wheat/ barley during the growing/ harvesting or processing stages.
