Sacro Occipital Technique

Sacro Occipital Technique treatment

What is SOT?

Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) is a holistic approach to chiropractic healthcare focused on the structural integrity of the human body to allow stability and movement.  In treatment this includes a detailed analysis and corrections for the spine, pelvis, cranium, extremities, and organs.

Charles Robottom integrated Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) into his chiropractic practice 25 years ago and is Advanced SOT Certified.  Importantly, he keeps himself up to date with new techniques and best practice by attending annual residential programmes.

History of SOT

SOT as a chiropractic technique has been around a long time. It was first developed by Dr Bertrand DeJarnette in the USA in 1925.  Originally an engineer, he suffered severe injuries after an explosion which eventually led him to spinal manipulation, which he credited with saving his life.  He was so influenced by his experience he trained in both osteopathy and chiropractic and spent decades performing clinical research and developing the techniques used by SOT practioners today.
